Analysis

Updated: December 4, 2011

Ideally, Jane Eyre would be in the thick of it. And it just might be. It’s difficult to assess of these below-the-line categories when so few critics’ groups actually assess a film’s costume design. But whatever. I’m championing The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo at the moment, but it’s definitely an outside chance. The frontrunners in this category remain the frontrunners for Best Picture, with The Artist, Hugo, and War Horse leading the group.

Analysis

Updated: October 15, 2011

I would hope that Jane Eyre has what it takes to make it to the end of the race; this is really one of the only places I see it fitting in. Otherwise, I’m thinking anything from The Help to A Dangerous Method is in play.

I’m predicting The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo on the basis that there just has to be something contemporary in contention, and if there’s anything, I’m betting it’s that.

Great analysis. My personal pics would be: W.E. (Arianne Phillips), HUGO (Sandy Powell), ANONYMOUS (Lisy Christl), A DANGEROUS METHOD (Denise Cronenberg), and JANE EYRE (Michael O’Connor).

I really think this year it’s gonna be: HUGO, THE ARTIST, JANE EYRE, W.E., ANONYMOUS
